Axis Lounge Chair by Robin Day

Rare Axis lounge chair by Robin Day for Hille Furniture. This 1966 low chair combines injection moulded aluminium with bent plywood. Most Axis chairs were executed with upholstery. This version in teak faced plywood is very hard to find. The Axis chair is Robin Day's first chair which could be disassembled. "Designed to be flexible, it could either be constructed as an individual chair or in linked group". Great piece with influence of industrial design.
