Ilse Vermeulen lives and works in 's-Hertogenbosch. Her work has been shown in the exhibition "Bouwsels" in the Noord-Brabant Museum, at fairs such as the PAN and at various art fairs in England, Germany and Scandinavia. Her work is also part of the "Wonderkamers" in Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

Ilse Vermeulen's work is characterized by collections, series, collections of - often composed - objects. Her work is perhaps best typified by the term intuitive research. Where a scientist works through the strict lines of logic and efficiency, Vermeulen intuitively searches for personal symbols that relate to life, its transience and its value.
