Willem van Malsen

Willem van Malsen (born 7 January 1940 – 1 June 2005) was a Dutch artist, best known in the 1970s and 1980s. Painter, illustrator, cartoonist, déchirure-maker, inventor and writer. His work can be seen as one big experiment in form, taking many different influences and currents in its own form. A son of the photographer. He worked from 1967 to 1970 from Paris as a political cartoonist for the French magazine L ' Enragé, Smoking and the Hague Netherlands Post. In 1970, he returned to the Netherlands. In the Centraal Museum is an exhibition dedicated to him in 2008.
